The Big Freeze slide fundraiser will be held at the MCG on Monday despite the Queen’s Birthday clash between Melbourne and Collingwood being moved to Sydney.
Celebrities and footy stars will take the icy plunge at the ‘G with the fun beamed into the telecast.
There were fears the event would not go ahead given Victoria’s coronavirus outbreak.
The Big Freeze has helped contribute to more than $48m invested in research through Neale Daniher’s FightMND charity.
This year’s sliders are Billy Brownless, Ray Chamberlain, Jeff Farmer, Daisy Pearce, Abbey Holmes, Shane Crawford, Sarah Jones, Sharni Norder, Craig Bellamy and Russell Howcroft.
Campaign director Bec Daniher, Neale’s daughter, told the Saturday Herald Sun: “Dad’s mantra is to play on. And that is what we will be doing on June 14.”
