France is painting a glamorous picture of what life is like on the other side of the world right now, with the A-list flocking to the red carpet of the Cannes opening ceremony.
After not going ahead in its traditional form last year, the glitzy film festival has returned in style for the screening of the Adam Driver-led musical film Annette, with US supermodel Bella Hadid leading red carpet arrivals today.
The 24-year-old donned old Hollywood glamour in a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier white gown with a sheer black train and connecting halter-neck.
The former Victoria’s Secret model styled her hair in a tight bun and accessorised with Chopard diamonds totalling more than 30 carats.

Joining her was South African supermodel Candice Swanepoel, who walked the red carpet in a dazzling flared pantsuit with a slim-fitting bodice.
The custom semi-sheer Etro suit featured sparkling embroidery and fringed sleeves.
This year’s recipient of the Honorary Palme d’Or, Jodie Foster, was also at opening night, wearing an elegant white dress with jewel embellishments.
Dame Helen Mirren, Jessica Chastain and Carla Bruni were among the other A-list arrivals:
The 74th edition of the iconic festival is served by Oscar winner Spike Lee as president of the jury this year.
Lee is accompanied on the jury by director Mati Diop, singer-songwriter Mylène Farmer, actress-director Maggie Gyllenhaal, writer-director Jessica Hausner, actress-director Mélanie Laurent, writer-director Kleber Mendonça Filho, actor Tahar Rahim, and actor Song Kang-ho.
The cohort will reveal its list of winners on July 17 during the closing ceremony.
