Sky News host Paul Murray says it’s “distraction, distraction, distraction” as WA Premier Mark McGowan criticizes the Morrison government’s rhetoric on China to hide the fact its police force was able to access personal data from the SafeWA app.
WA police were found to be using the McGowan government’s COVID app to track criminals despite the government going out of its way to assure citizens its QR codes would not be used to track individuals.
“When government tries to introduce something people are cautious about and it goes out of its way to say it will not be misused… sorry, I don’t care how popular this guy is, I don’t trust him and I don’t trust his government,” he said.
“So as this story was bubbling along, it was time for Mark McGowan to change the subject and start ranting about Canberra.
“Remember, what do Palaszczuk, Andrews and the Emperor have in common? Their first love is the Labor Party. The main point of the Labor Party in the next 12 months is to unseat the Morrison government.”
