DeGrom has been sidelined since May 10 with right-side tightness.
The 32-year-old is off to an incredible start this season, going 3-2 with a 0.68 ERA, 0.600 WHIP and 65 strikeouts in 40 innings. He’s also hitting .467 with two RBI on seven hits.
Although deGrom will make his much-anticipated return, the Mets are still without Pete Alonso, Michael Conforto, Brandon Nimmo, Jeff McNeil, J.D. Davis, Kevin Pillar, Carlos Carrasco and Noah Syndergaard.
The Mets are first in the NL East with a 21-18 record despite all of their injuries, which is quite impressive.
