Following a week around Victoria, the contestants enter the MasterChef kitchen on Sunday night to discover a wall is now dividing the famed kitchen in two.
Jock welcomes them and reminds them that today is an elimination. Mel lays down the rules, informing them that today they will be partnered up with someone, but they won’t be a team. Instead they’ll be cooking head-to-head. The contestants choose aprons at random and the colour determines who they are up against, and it’s revealed the contestants going head-to-head are Pete vs Elise; Kishwar vs Sabina; Minoli vs Brent; Depinder vs Maja; Linda vs Aaron and Justin vs Scott.

Following his Immunity win, Tommy will sit this one out on the gantry.
In round one of today’s elimination contestants are cooking against each other in pairs. They can cook anything they like and have an open pantry and access to the garden. Each pair will have their dish tasted at the same time. The best dish is safe, and the other person will have to cook in round 2. They each have a clock with 90 minutes on their bench and can use as much or as little of that time as they like, but any time they don’t use in the first round will be what they cook with if they get into round two. There is a wall separating each pair, so they don’t know what each other are cooking, or how much time they are using.
In a clip shared with news.com.au, it doesn’t look like Maja will be winning her round against Depinder, as she struggles to get her Panna Cotta to set.

Maja goes to flip out her parmesan Panna Cotta, but it doesn’t work out. As she turns it out of the mould, it is all liquid. Andy advises her that the more strategic play would be to call it quits on round one, and focus all her time on cook 2.
To see if Maja ends up going home tonight, tune into MasterChef at 7:30pm
