Pamela Anderson has slammed the new miniseries about her rollercoaster relationship with rocker Tommy Lee as a “cheap knock-off”, according to a close friend of the star.
The Baywatch babe hit out at Pam and Tommy, a new limited series for Hulu, and told friends she has no plans to watch it.
The friend toldThe Sun exclusively: “Pamela has no intention of watching this God awful show, absolutely not. Never.
“She’s never heard of the actors playing her or Tommy, and doesn’t care to know them.
“She and her family think the show is a cheap knock-off.
“The whole thing is a joke to them.”
The eight-part series will depict the whirlwind and often rocky relationship between blonde bombshell Pam and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, who only knew each other 96 hours before getting married.
Lily recently wowed in publicity shots from the show, with fans saying she’s a spitting image of the former Playboy centrefold.
But Pam, 53, who lives in Canada with her builder hubby, isn’t impressed.
The friend said: “Pamela finds it amusing that this girl is getting so much attention for playing her.
“Lily isn’t a match for Pamela, doesn’t even come close, nor does Sebastian Stan do justice to Tommy.”
The friend, who prefers not to be named, said the one thing Pam really isn’t happy about is how the show will relive the moment her and Tommy’s sex tape was stolen and leaked to the public.
The actress and Tommy found themselves at the centre of a scandal after a former disgruntled employee stole a safe that contained an hour-long sex tape of the couple.
Pam previously tried to stop the video’s release with a lawsuit, though she dropped the suit after the tape was posted online.
Actor Seth Rogen will play Rand Gauthier, the man who stole and sold the sex tape.
“That whole thing was extremely traumatic for Pamela, it was one of the most difficult experiences of her life,” the friend said.
“To have it dredged up for a TV show is pathetic.
“She won’t want to be reminded about it.”
The friend revealed that producers did reach out to Pam before filming began, asking her to consult on the project, but she declined to help.
“They reached out, but it was an easy ‘no’ for Pamela. Her and Tommy have absolutely zero involvement in this project,” the friend said.
They added that Pam and Tommy, 58, haven’t spoken directly about the show, but after all these years are on good terms.
The former couple tied the knot in 1995 before divorcing in 1998. They share sons Brandon, 24, and Dylan, 23.
“Pamela has no problem being reminded about her relationship with Tommy – after all he’s the father of her beloved boys,” the friend said.
“Conversation about Tommy doesn’t faze her, or even register, it’s all in the past, water under the bridge.
“From her relationship with Tommy, came her joy – her boys. Pamela loves them deeply, and that’s what matters to her.
“As far as she’s concerned this cheap, tacky show will be a work of fiction. It will come and go and few will care.”
