A lavish skyhome topping one of Adelaide’s tallest buildings has changed hands in a multimillion-dollar deal.
Selling agent Marina Ormsby wouldn’t reveal the sale price of the two-storey penthouse on levels 38 and 39 of the 132m-high Realm Adelaide complex at 17 Austin St.
However, the Fox Real Estate agent confirmed it fetched more than $4 million.
She said there have been higher sales recorded for apartments off the plan but this was the highest price paid for one that was finished.
“It went to a local buyer who is living in Adelaide, they’re going to live in it,” she said.
“(The sale) gives strength to the apartment market and I think it also shows there’s strength in our local market.”
Ms Ormsby said it had attracted a range of buyers since it hit the market in early December last year, including downsizers and families.
Unlike many other apartments on offer across Adelaide, Ms Ormsby said this one offered multiple living zones and outdoor areas to cater to families looking for a non-traditional home in the heart of the city.
The luxury four-bedroom penthouse has 440sqm of internal living space and 150sqm of outdoor living space.
Among its offerings are a study, a cinema room, a wine cellar, two kitchens and a rooftop entertaining deck with panoramic views of the city.
The skyhome also offers owners access to the complex’s amenities, including a wellbeing zone for indoor yoga, a 270sqm rooftop spa, sauna and steam room, a cross-fit enabled gym and climbing wall, two private function spaces and a games room, and a 25m lap pool and spa.
It is one of two penthouses in the Realm Adelaide tower, the other of which was sold off the plan.
