Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) slammed Democrats who have dismissed Antifa as nothing more ‘than an idea’ after her home was targeted vandalized with anarchist symbols over the weekend.
Police in Charleston are investigating the vandalism on Mace’s property, which includes political slogans and vulgarities spray-painted on her home and street.
Fox News notes that the graffiti included “three Antifa symbols.”
“I’m a single mom and this is where I’m raising my family,” Mace said.
“Rhetoric has reached, I think, an all-time high. And we’ve got to take it down a notch because real words have real consequences on real people in real life.”

Mace blasted the vandals for “a violation of one’s privacy” and the fact that her kids had to see such vulgarities spray-painted on her property.

“It doesn’t matter what your political beliefs are or your political affiliation, everyone should feel safe in their own home,” she said.
Mace claims this is the second time her home has been the target of vandals in the “last few months.”
In the early morning hours of Memorial Day, my home, where I’m raising my two children, was vandalized with Antifa symbols and profanity.

Mace also commented on Democrat politicians – the same ones who want you to believe there is an epidemic of white supremacist insurrectionists in this country – who dismiss Antifa as an idea.
“It’s awful and it also goes to show that Antifa isn’t just an ideology, you know, as some want to call it,” Mace said. “These are real people with criminal intent. There was Antifa graffiti with this.”
She concluded, “[They] wreaked havoc across the United States and my house is just the latest casualty.”
There is a significant difference between nonviolent protests and criminal acts of intimidation and vandalism.
I’m concerned too for my neighbors who’ve been impacted by this appalling criminal behavior.

More Than An ‘Idea’
During the first presidential debate, Joe Biden mischaracterized comments by FBI Director Christopher Wray last summer who said Antifa is not an organization but an “ideology” or “movement.”
The President tried to use those comments to suggest Antifa is simply an “idea.”
“His own FBI director said the threat comes from white supremacists — Antifa is an idea, not an organization,” Biden claimed.
Wray would later clarify: “Antifa is a real thing; it’s not a fiction, and it’s a concern.”

That hasn’t stopped the left from continuing to mischaracterize Antifa as an idea.
Joy Behar, co-host of ‘The View’ for example, recently told her unquestioning audience that Antifa is a “fictitious idea” and “not a real thing.”
Aside from Mace’s home being targeted by the “fictitious” group, Antifa has had some pretty high-profile attacks on both lawmakers and right-leaning media members.
Just two days prior to the Capitol protest in January, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO ) claimed his family was targeted by Antifa vandals, though the group responsible for the gathering claimed it was “not threatening.”
“Each night you remind us that we are not safe,” the group, Smash Racism DC, wrote on social media. “Tonight, we remind you that you are not safe either.”
A mob has gathered outside Tucker Carlson’s home demanding his family leave DC because he is a “racist scumbag.”

Last week, former Obama CIA Director John Brennan admitted he’s “concerned” about some of the rhetoric coming from far-left politicians stoking a partisan divide, in addition to concerns about Antifa vigilantism.
“I am concerned about some of this rhetoric that’s coming from the Left,” Brennan said calling ideologues on both ends of the political spectrum “dangerous.”
He added that “there are individuals on the Left who are engaging in vigilantism themselves that fall under this broad rubric of Antifa, anti-fascist elements.”
“Conservatives are being targeted,” Mace said. “We can’t continue down this path. It’s un-American and it’s unsafe, and we could do better.”
